BMS International drew a line under another satisfying year in 2024 as it continues its mission to promote the Christian faith and engage in impactful Christian social entrepreneurship. The fourth quarter was marked by significant activities at mission properties across multiple countries, where local churches hosted special Christmas celebrations and regional conferences, while Basfour Group showed continued growth and development.
Mission Activities and Regional Impact
Mission properties worldwide actively served as vital gathering spaces for edification and community connection during fourth quarter. Notable highlights included the East Africa conference in Kisii, Kenya, which united members from multiple African nations and European countries, and a bi-annual Christian conference in León, Mexico, bringing together church members from North America and Europe. Members at mission properties participated locally in following various international broadcasts via BCC Connect, including the BCC Autumn Conference, Brothers Conference, and Advent Conference. The year concluded with festive Christmas celebrations across properties and BUK New Years Camp broadcasts which united youth groups across multiple locations. Throughout these events, local church members remained dedicated to maintaining these spaces through consistent volunteer work.
Basfour Group: Empowering Through Christian Social Entrepreneurship
In South Africa, the Basfour Group concluded the year with new avenues for growth and achievements during the festive summer period. The Group diversified its event offerings at Pont de Val Estates by hosting numerous ticketed events, introducing multi-day children’s events, and launching innovative experience packages combining boat cruises with wine-pairing dinners and live music. The business development focus extended across multiple entities within the Basfour Group, with several companies securing new projects and onboarding new clients for 2025 while successfully renewing existing contracts.
A highlight of the quarter was hosting the CYDEP certificate awards ceremony at Pont de Val’s Belle Vue Venue in October. This ceremony celebrates participants’ completion of the Small Business Management and Community Development course which is conducted in partnership with a local university. Throughout Q4, CYDEP participants continued to gain valuable practical experience across various Basfour Group companies, focusing on hospitality operations, IT networking, and property maintenance while developing essential soft skills. This comprehensive training approach equips participants with both technical expertise and personal development tools that enable them to make meaningful contributions to their home communities.
Supporting African Communities
The Basfour Group continued its commitment to Christian social entrepreneurship through the Board and Management Support Program, where board members and management from the Basfour Group volunteer their expertise to help develop mission properties across African nations.
In November, members of Basfour’s Board dedicated 328 hours to support in Africa, traveling to the mission property in Kisii, Kenya, where they conducted workshops and training sessions with representatives from both Kisii and Kisumu mission properties. Sessions focused on property management, budget processes, and exploring income generation possibilities to help cover operational costs.
