Our Organisation

BMS International (BMS) is a non-profit religious organization located in the United States with charitable status as a Mission Society.

  • Established in November 2020
  • Ultimate owner of mission-related properties across 11 countries
  • Primary purpose to engage in religious and charitable activities that further the religious tenets and principles of the BCC Federation
  • Manages an important part of international mission activities within the BCC Federation – with a role to conduct mission activities internationally, and to own, finance, and support mission properties and organizations that engage in Christian social entrepreneurship
  • Income from donors or from investments are used to further its religious charitable purpose

Ownership of mission properties

A key focus for BMS International lies in obtaining, maintaining, and evolving suitable mission properties which provide a mission platform or tool for promoting the Christian faith and providing children and young people with a positive and healthy Christian environment, and good framework conditions for personal, spiritual, and social development. These mission properties mostly have the following characteristics:

  • Maintained with the purpose of furthering the Christian faith.
  • Provide facilities uniquely suited to Christian gatherings, conferences, children and youth activities, and camps.
  • Used by BCC-affiliated members and believers based locally, regionally, nationally, and in some cases internationally.
  • Based in countries with low purchasing power and in locations where suitable and comparable facilities are otherwise not available or would be excessively expensive.

Engagement in Christian Social Entrepreneurship

Investments in organizations that engage in Christian social entrepreneurship, are investment that also furthers BMS’ charitable mission. They generate a holistic return (educational, social, economic, spiritual), as well as a financial return, such that it is not exclusively about profit. When financial returns, proceeds, or capacity of skilled resources from such organizations are used to further mission objectives in a country or region, the impact that such organizations have is significant and multi-faceted and are effective means of furthering the religious charitable purposes of BMS and international mission purposes within the BCC Federation.

Mission Programs

Manage, responsibly fund, or steward effective and efficient mission programs – achieving the maximum impact in a cost-efficient way in the operation of the program. This has over the past years included grants to organizations in support of youth development programs.
